Crab is one of the most delicious meats and seafood available. In Maryland, cooking them is somewhat like an artform. With the right touch, you can cook your crabs to perfection. There are different techniques and methods to cook your crabs, so that is great to keep in mind if you like a variety. Let us look into four different ways to cook your crabs without further ado.
Boiled Crabs
Boiling is the first option on our list, and it works well for just about every type of crab. Begin boiling your water and salt in a large deep pot. Many cook their crabs in Old Bay spices, beer, and wine. You can boil your crabs anywhere from 10-15 minutes.
Steamed Crabs
Steaming is another popular way to cook crabs. This option ensures that all of the juices and flavor from the crab meat remain inside. You can use a steamer basket to top and place the crabs inside. The steaming process takes about 20 minutes, depending on the size.
Roasted Crabs
After you clean your crabs, you can roast them. You should butter them for taste and sprinkle various herbs and spices. You can also use garlic, lemon juice, and fresh parsley. You should roast them at 500 degrees Fahrenheit for optimal flavor for 10 minutes.
Grilling
Grilling is arguably the most underrated way to cook and enjoy crabs. Brush each crab with melted butter and place them on your grill. Cover it and cook them until they are lightly browned. Flip them, brush with butter, and grill the other side. This process typically takes about 10 minutes.
