In case you didn’t know, October is National Seafood Month! What better way to celebrate such a delicious occasion than to partake in one (or a few) of the many tasty dishes that come from the sea. This month highlights people who work in the fishing industry and the versatility that seafood offers. If you and your family want to participate, here are some ways you can dive into the celebration.
Go Fishing
There is still time in the season to go fishing. The temperatures are getting cooler, but they are still warm enough for you, your family and friends to head out onto the water. Have a professional show you the ropes or take your own gear out and catch yourself some dinner.
Try a New Seafood Restaurant
In Maryland, there are many restaurants you can visit to order a delicious seafood meal. Whether it’s a new place or one of your favorite spots, plan a date night with your significant other or a family outing to celebrate National Seafood Month. Costas Inn is a great place to start!
Try a New Recipe
Have some fun in the kitchen. Pick up your favorite fish filet or experiment with a new one. Find a tasty recipe online and prepare a meal you’ll soon be having on a regular basis. Fire up your grill, warm up your oven, or even try your hand at a sushi recipe.
Check Out a Seafood Festival
The almighty blue crab is a favorite seafood option for people up and down the east coast, and especially for Marylanders. And even though the temperatures are beginning to cool, there are still a few opportunities left to attend a seafood festival in the area. The perfect way to celebrate this month would be to sit down with family and friends to feast on a variety of dishes that come from the water.
