Are you hosting some form of party or celebration? Are you conflicted with what you are going serve to your guests? Why not go the seafood route? Many types of seafood are perfect for catering. This includes items such as crab cakes, mussels, clams, steamed shrimp, crab balls, and calamari. This list just goes on and on! If you decide to cater an event with seafood, check out these helpful tips!
Fresh Seafood Is Better Than Frozen
As a general rule of thumb, fresh seafood is always going to be superior to frozen. This is not to say that you can’t serve frozen items, just know that guest will be significantly happier if they are only served fresh items.
Have Items Besides Seafood
It is important to offer a variety of food choices to guests at an event. It is impossible to please everyone; however, it is a good idea to offer a few choices besides only seafood options to your guests.
Make Sure Guests Don’t Have Seafood Allergies
If you are going serve seafood, you need to check and make sure that none of your guests have seafood allergies. You don’t want to jeopardize anyone’s health and safety because you didn’t do your due diligence.
Have A Few Sauces/ Seasonings For Guests
Since everyone’s taste buds are different, it is a good idea to have a few condiments available so guests can tailor their food to their liking. For example, if you want to appease your guests, maybe offer both cocktail and tartar sauce at your event.
