The Orioles couldn’t manage the sweep, but they did take 2 out of 3 from the Anaheim Angels, which brings us to the beginning of August. The birds remain in first place in the AL East, but a surging Toronto Blue Jays team is hot on their trail at only a game and a half back, having won their last 6 games in a row. Baltimore faces off against Seattle this weekend for a 3-game series and then dips down to Washington for a rainout makeup against the Nationals. The birds will then head up to Toronto for an important series against their division rivals which could really give the O’s some room to breathe with a few wins.
