Summer is almost here, and that means you’ll probably want to spend more time having lighter meals. Seafood is great for that purpose. In fact, as popular as crab feasts and crab cakes are, they aren’t the only tasty ways to enjoy crabs in the summertime.
Grilled Dungeness Crab
Summer is also the time to fire up the grill. Why not step away from meats such as hot dogs, hamburgers, and steak? If you didn’t think you could put crabs on the barbie, then you’re in for a surprise! Grilling the Dungeness gives them a sweet and smoky flavor that you can elevate with a baste made from the combination of ginger, jalapeno, and garlic.
Easy Crab Bisque
Even in spring and summertime, soup is a mouthwatering addition to any meal! Try this easy crab bisque to punch up your next lunch. Crab and shrimp come together to make some magic with some sherry, and best of all, it takes less than half an hour to make! Serve with bread or biscuits to get the most out of the experience.
Crab Salad
Give crab salad a shot! Something light and refreshing can make a nice change of pace. Dress the salad with lemon juice, mayo, and our secret house spice blend from Costas Inn! Celery, bell peppers, and avocado add even more color and make it more substantial, too.
Crab Rangoon
For an Asian-style twist on your next appetizer, turn to the good old crab rangoons. Mix crab bits with cream cheese for that lovely smoothness, and add some steak sauce as a secret ingredient! Just be sure to serve with sweet and sour dipping sauce and maybe put some chopsticks down on the table, just in case!
Gluten-Free Crab Cakes
Crab cakes are immensely popular, and there’s no reason why anyone should be excluded from the fun! Making gluten-free crab cakes is simple. Use lump crab meat and avoid bread crumbs – or use their gluten-free equivalent; serving the cakes over mixed greens or on a GF bun also makes for a delicious spin on an old favorite!
