Served on their own, crab cakes can be a very delicious treat. They can also be served with other dishes such as sandwiches, salads, and pasta, to name a few. Crab cakes can be reheated and maintain their fresh taste when reheated within a day. It is not recommended that you eat crab cakes that have been stored for more than a couple of days. There are many methods used for reheating crab cakes. However, crab cakes are very delicate, so one of the main concerns in reheating a crab cake is maintaining the shape. Below are two methods for reheating a crabcake.
Oven
Setting the oven to bake or broil is an effective way to heat your crab cake evenly without changing the texture. However, one of the major concerns about using the oven to reheat your crab cake is the dry heat drying them out. Make sure your crab cakes are at room temperature to prevent this problem. Adding a pan of water on another rack can also prevent your crab cakes from drying out by creating a moist environment. Adding a layer of butter can also assist in keeping your crab cake moist and add flavor during reheating.
Stove
The stove is another method used for reheating crab cakes. This quick and easy method is used to ensure that your crab cake is heated evenly without changing the texture. You can add water lightly steaming your crab cake or add oil frying it for a crispier result when using the stove.
