Happy Hour has to be one of the best things to look forward to after the end of a long workday. With lower priced food and drinks, happy hour is really, the happiest of all hours. Here at Costas Inn during happy hour, Coors Lite and Bud Lite drafts are only $2 and Natty Boh, a Baltimore favorite, is just $1.50. We also have half price bottles of wine and dollar oysters! This fall, why not plan a happy hour party for your company at Costas Inn? It’s a great way to get together, unwind, and bond outside of the office.
Before planning a happy hour, we have a few tips for happy hour etiquette. When you’re out with your company, it is a time to relax, but you still want to conduct yourself professionally.
- Have a drink! You shouldn’t feel like you have to avoid drinking all together when you’re out with your coworkers. You want to show that you made an effort to get together outside of the office and mingle. It can even boost your reputation and show your boss and colleagues that you want to get to know everyone on a deeper level.
- Know your limits. Relax and unwind, but know when to stop. Because you are with people you work with, you’re considered a part of the face of the company. You don’t want to ruin the business’s image by drinking too much, or too fast. You should sip your drink, not guzzle it down.
- Know your surroundings. Keep in mind that a company happy hour is not the same as a happy hour with friends. Your boss, colleagues, and other people are keeping an eye on your behavior and the way you conduct yourself.
- Eat. Enjoy a few snacks or appetizers while you’re here. Nothing’s worse than drinking on an empty stomach. And best of all, happy hour food is much cheaper than regular priced menu items!
- Be considerate of others. You may feel like treating a coworker or two to a drink, but don’t force it on them if they don’t want one. Also, it isn’t your place to expect your boss to buy everyone drinks.
- Don’t feel like you have to drink to have fun. Although everyone in the office is having a drink, don’t feel like you have to if you’re not up to it. Instead, order club soda with cranberry juice, or something else to sip on while mingling.
