The Orioles have kept us on pins and needles over the second half of the season and it looks like it’s going to come right down to the wire. It has been a hectic wild card race and the birds have seen their share of ups and downs. Just when they seem like they’re gaining some ground they go and lose 3 out of 4 to the Yankees. But now, the O’s stand poised to make their move. The team goes into tonight’s game against Boston riding a 3 game win streak and looking for the sweep. Though they won’t knock the Red Sox out of the top spot, they are chomping at the bit for one of two hotly contested wild card spots.
Right now Tampa Bay and Texas have the two top spots. The O’s have been inching their way slowly to the top and now sit only one game out of the wild card, second only to Cleveland, who are half a game back. The O’s have a huge opportunity in the form of a four game series against Tampa Bay this weekend. The Rays have an impressive home record, but it’s nothing a little Orioles Magic can’t handle. We’re coming down the home stretch now. Let’s go O’s!
