When most Americans use their grill, they frequently grill food derived from beef and chicken. Even some other foods like vegetables are delicious to grill. Fish is one of the healthier cooking options and a good substitute for those living a healthier lifestyle. With that in mind, let’s look at five different types of fish that are perfect for grilling.
Grilled Swordfish
Grilled swordfish is a good option because it has a natural buttery flavor that goes well with the grilled flavor. It’s a meatier alternative that goes nicely with marinades and tartar sauce. Swordfish is more expensive than other fish species but worth the price. Various varieties of fish, however, tend to fall apart during grilling, but swordfish remains firm when grilling.
Grilled Tuna
Tuna, like swordfish, remains solid while grilling and preserves those coveted grilled marks. Cook with caution because this type of fish can cook rapidly if left unattended.
Grilled Salmon
Salmon retains its firmness when grilled. Salmon is a nutritious fish that retains its unique flavor when cooked. This fish has a beautiful bright color, and it’s best to cook it with the skin on it because the skin keeps the fish firm while grilling.
Red Snapper
Despite its leanness, red snapper is a firm-textured fish. One of the more filling options available, it has a distinct sweet flavor that pairs nicely with various side dishes. Before grilling, soak your snapper in olive oil to prevent it from sticking to the grill or losing moisture.
Mahi-Mahi
When grilled, mahi-mahi is naturally sweet and tasty. It also holds up well when grilled. Like many other fish species, it can stick to your grill, so use caution and don’t overcook your fish. When served as fish tacos, mahi-mahi is incredibly tasty.
