More often than not, when people cook fish, it is often fried, breaded, and seasoned in various seasonings. We’ve covered in previous blogs how fish is one of the healthiest foods available for consumption. This blog will cover four alternative cooking options to prepare your next fish dinner.
Broiled Fish Dinner
Broiling is a quick way to prepare your meal because foods are exposed directly to the heat within the oven. Broiled salmon is a good choice because it is a fish that is less likely to dry out while cooking. Other fish that taste great broiled are tuna, mackerel, and sea bass.
Poached Fish Dinner
Poaching is also another healthy way to cook your food. This method retains moisture regardless of whatever fish you use. Halibut and lake trout are two different types of fish that people enjoy poaching. You will also need to prepare some broth for your meal as well.
Try Steaming
Believe it or not, you can steam fish. Steaming doesn’t dry it out and doesn’t add any unnecessary fat. You can opt to use a steamer basket to help aid the cooking process. By utilizing the steaming process, the meat retains all of its nutrients. Another thing to keep in mind is the cooking time. It generally takes anywhere from 10 -15 minutes for the steaming process.
Baked Fish
Baking is the most simple and easiest way to cook any fish. Before placing it in the oven, apply various seasonings garnished with lemon. Keep in mind that cooking times differ depending on what you are baking.
Grilled Fish
Using a grill to prepare fish is arguably the best method depending on what type of fish you grill. The same kinds of fish that taste great broiled often taste greatly grilled. That is because the cooking methods are somewhat similar.
