Summer is coming to a close, and many families throughout Maryland are sitting down to some of their last seafood dinners of the year. If you have a fish dinner planned to kickstart the fall or bring the summer to a close, here are some of the best side dishes to set your meal apart.
Potatoes
Potatoes are a classic side dish for anything Maryland seafood related. They are easy to work with since they can be prepared in so many different ways. You can roast potatoes with rosemary for an easy and easy-to-serve side dish. Are you having a picnic? Make potato salad for a crisp complement. If you are planning to fry your fish dinner, have a meal from across the pond and serve them with french fries.
Salad
Salad is easy to make and always a good side for a fish dinner. If you want something a little bit heavier, serve a fresh Caesar salad with crunchy romaine and delicious shaved parmesan cheese. If you are firing up the grill one last time, try grilling the romaine hearts to create the salad base. This is a fun twist on a traditional Caesar salad that your guests will love.
Veggies
You can’t go wrong with Maryland seafood and fresh veggies. Try steaming your vegetables to go alongside your grilled fish. Steaming locks in all of the nutrients and doesn’t require much effort or equipment. Select a variety of late summer vegetables like broccoli, carrots, peppers, and summer squash and you’ll have a delectable side dish for your summer fish dinner.
