Everyone loves eating fresh crab in the summer. Picking the meat right out of a shell during a crab feast is one of the most cherished summer pastimes that many Marylanders look forward to every time crab season rolls around. Here are some of the tastiest ways to enjoy your next batch of crabs. But if you don’t feel like cooking, then come on down to Costas Inn! Need them in a hurry? That’s okay because you can order them online, too!
From the Shell
If you are hosting your first crab feast, then you are probably anxious about how it will go. Having little bowls of fresh butter is a great way to replicate the restaurant experience. This helps make the bits of crab richer and more satisfying, just like dipping bread into some oil and herbs. Using some aioli can also heighten the experience, especially if you are worried that butter is too mundane for your guests who might be looking for something a touch classier.
Recipe Ideas
Then again, there are other ideas for a seafood party. You can always rely on the crabs that we sell to provide you with the best flavor. As much fun as picking out the meat can be, it’s worth it when the meat is turned into crab cakes or Cajun style seafood gumbo made with crabs and spices. Sometimes what everyone is craving is a tasty soup that can be eaten hot or cold, even on a scorching summer day; that’s where crab and corn chowder, kicked up with onions and sausages, can feed you for a whole week. If you want an appetizer to go with your meal, then you can’t go wrong with bruschetta smothered in butter, garlic, and premium crabmeat.
Asian-Inspired
If you love crab rangoon, then it’s a great way to use some leftover crab meat that you don’t know what too. Plus, you can also experiment with cheese wontons that have real crab instead of imitation meat that is lower-quality. Thai crab salad that has a coconut and lime dressing can give you the right summer vibes too, and still make sure that you have enough room left for some dessert!
